Scholarship Summary: 
The Stamps Scholarship at the University of Missouri is a competitive scholarship opportunity open to exceptional incoming domestic and international undergraduates.


Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicants must;
i. Be first-time, full-time undergraduate students 
ii. Obtain a minimum high school core GPA of 3.5+
iii. Obtain a minimum ACT score of 32 or a minimum SAT score of 1420

Value of Scholarship: 
Stamps Scholars at the University of Missouri receive the following benefits;
i. Full Tuition, Room and Board Scholarship
ii. One-time award of $16,000 for academic development and leadership
iii. MU Stamps Scholars must be enrolled in the Honors College for all four years, working toward completion of the honors certificate.
iv. Stamps Scholars will also have unique opportunities, including a dedicated mentor, contact with campus leadership, alumni networking, funding for study abroad, and attendance at the biennial Stamps Scholars National Convention in Atlanta, GA.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Apply and be admitted to University of Missouri and the Honors College by December 1st. Applicants are strongly advised to make their applications by November 15th to meet this deadline.

ii. Eligible students will be able to complete the Stamps Scholars application via their Admissions Application Status Page.
  a. This application includes:
    - All components of the Honors College application.
    - An additional essay of 500-750 words in response to the following prompt:
Describe a social, scientific, or artistic question/issue that you have thought deeply about and perhaps even researched. Why did it captivate you? What action did you take to learn more?
    - Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak directly to your academic abilities, achievements, and character. They should be teachers, school counselors, coaches, supervisors; one letter must be written by a teacher or counselor.
  b. After logging in, simply click on the “Stamps Scholars Application” link at the top of the page. After confirming that you wish to apply, and verifying that the required essays and resume have been submitted, you will be assigned two required references/recommendation letters as checklist items on your Status Page.
  c. Click on each reference item, enter the requested information for each of your references and submit. An email will be generated to your reference giving them a unique link for submission.
  d. You can view the submission status of all requirements, including the reference letters, in your checklist on your status page here. It is your responsibility to remind your references of the due date.
  e. Applicants must have all required materials submitted, letters of recommendation uploaded, and applied to both MU and the Honors College no later than 11:59 p.m. (CDT) on December 1 via the application portal. No late applications will be accepted.

iii. Once applications are closed, a committee of faculty and administrators will review and evaluate every application to select the most distinguished individuals.

iv. As the first step in that process, the top 100 candidates will be invited to participate in an 8-minute video interview process in mid-December, in which candidates will be invited to answer four questions with up to two minutes of recorded answers to each question. Once those recorded answers are reviewed and the results are tabulated in combination with initial review results, twenty-eight semi-finalists will be selected.

v. In mid-January, 20 semi-finalists will be invited to Stamps Interview Weekend.

vi. All semi-finalists are required to attend this on-campus event in February 2024. The weekend will include a formal reception, in-person interview, meeting of current Stamps Scholars, lunch with key faculty and administrators, a tour of campus and the Honors Learning Communities, sessions with campus resources, a session for parents, and several other campus activities. Semi-finalists are responsible for their own travel costs and arrangements. The University will pay for all food and event-related expenses.

vii. Finalist Nomination: March 1st
