Scholarship Summary:
Several Chancellors International Scholarships are available to undergraduate and postgraduate international applicants. As there are a limited number of awards available, these are highly competitive and only applicants with excellent academic achievement and potential will be considered. If you have excellent grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
i. Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes
ii. Be taking up a place on a full-time, eligible Bachelor's or Master's degree, starting September 2024
iii. Have excellent academic grades
iv. Be self-financing
Value of Scholarship:
The Sussex Chancellors International and EU Scholarships is valued as follows;
i. For Postgraduates: £5,000
ii. For Undergraduates: £5,000 per year of study
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply for the Chancellors International Scholarship;
i. You need to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible course at Sussex.
ii. Please complete the separate scholarship application form online (applications will open on 12th April, 2023), after you have received an offer to study at Sussex.
The scholarship application will ask you for-
- Personal details- such as UCAS PID (or applicant number), name, email address.
- Education details- if you are currently studying or have finished studying, your predicted or final grade.
- A 500 word (maximum) supporting statement to answer the following - "Describe your academic achievements to date and your ambitions for the future. Why should you receive this scholarship and what impact will receiving the scholarship have on your time at Sussex and when you return home?”
iii. The successful applicants will need to ensure they have made plans or raised sufficient funds to cover any remaining costs of living not covered by the maintenance portion of the scholarship, for the duration of their degree.
This is not available for applicants to the University of Sussex Business School or School of Engineering & Informatics, as there are School-specific scholarships available.
