Scholarship Summary: 
The Indigenous Leadership Scholarship is awarded to indigenous Canadian students who demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding leadership skills. Preference will be given to students who are able to speak an Indigenous language.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered for scholarship, applicants must; 
i. Be of Indigenous origin (and provide proof of this) and be enrolled full time and for the first time in an undergraduate program in a direct-entry faculty or in the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section
ii. Have an admission average of 85% or higher,
iii. Demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to academic and extracurricular activities.

Value of Scholarship: 
The UOttawa Indigenous Leadership Scholarship is valued as CAD$26,000 (CAD$6,500 per year) or CAD$19,500 (CAD$4,875 per year) if you are in civil law. This scholarship can be renewed for the three following years provided the student maintains full-time enrolment in a direct-entry faculty and a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 8.50. 

The University also provides a one-time award of $1,500 to applicants who are ranked second, third and fourth for each of the six scholarships. Applications must be submitted online.

To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission into the University of Ottawa; you can apply for scholarship and bursaries as soon as you've applied to the University of Ottawa and have received your uoAccess ID and password.
ii. All scholarships and bursaries applications must be submitted online, using the Student Portal. Application forms are usually available two months before the application deadline.
iii. Upload all required documents in the Portal and submit your application.
