Scholarship Summary: 
Memorial University is offering generous application-based scholarships to Newfoundland and Labrador high school students.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible, you must; 
i. Be a high school student, graduating from a Newfoundland and Labrador High School, 
ii. Be entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at Memorial University in September, 
iii. Have an early admission average of 90% or higher. 
iv. Have strong extracurricular involvement and demonstrated leadership contributions to school and community in Levels I, II, and III.

Value of Scholarship: 
The Memorial University Application-based Entrance Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Memorial University Alumni Entrance Scholarship valued as CAD$25,000 payable over five years (CAD$5,000 per year)
ii. Dr. Leslie Harris Memorial University Alumni Association Scholarship valued as CAD$16,000 payable over four years (CAD$4,000 per year)

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Apply for admission into Memorial University
ii. Complete the online scholarship application and submit all required documentation by the above deadline.

The online scholarship application includes;

1. Student Information

  • Complete the Student Information section.

2. Activity Summary

  • Provide information about your high school extracurricular and community leadership activities.
  • List only those activities that have occurred within the last three years.
  • Limit your comments to those activities in which you have had a leadership role. DO NOT include paid employment.
  • Activity/Group - Name activity or group/team. (Maximum of 5 of your most significant activities)
  • Description - Briefly describe your participation.
  • Provide dates and estimated number of hours spent participating in each activity (e.g. 3 hrs per week, January 2023 - June 2023).

3. Reference Letter

  • One reference letter required
