2024 Laurentian University Graduate Teaching Assistantship (Canada Based)

Scholarship Summary: 
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs) are available to qualified full-time International or Domestic students who meet the minimum average for automatically receiving a GTA, which is set at 75%. The awards are designated partially as employment and partially as a Fellowship. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants;
i. Must be registered full-time in the first two years of studies in Laurentian's graduate Masters program and four years for PhD programs.
ii. Need a B+ average to qualify (75%) for new Masters students. 
iii. Masters are eligible for 2 years, Ph.D. are eligible for 4. 

Value of Scholarship: 
The Laurentian GTA is valued as follows;
i. CAD$9,551 for M.Sc. students (CAD$4,665 is the salary portion paid on a bi-weekly basis and the graduate fellowship is payable in one instalment of CAD$4,886 into the students Laurentian University account) 
ii. CAD$13,847 for Ph.D. students (CAD$6,920 in the salary portion paid on a bi-weekly basis and the graduate fellowship is payable in one instalment of CAD$6,927 into the students Laurentian University account), and is subject to same review for the coming years.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission into a Laurentian graduate program
ii. You will receive an email where you can fill out the GTA application 
iii. If eligible, your admission letter will indicate eligibility for GTA
iv. The next step is to register for courses in both the Fall and Winter terms of the academic year you are admitted to
v. If appointed, students are required to work up to ten hours a week in some form of teaching assistance
