Scholarship Summary:
Academically exceptional freshmen (domestic) may earn a four-year UB Presidential Scholarship, the most selective and highly valued award in the SUNY system.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
While there are no minimum criteria for consideration as it is based on each year's incoming class, for the 2023 Presidential scholar class, the unweighted GPA ranged from a 94% up to 100%. The University at Buffalo is test optional this year and standardized test scores are not required to apply for this scholarship.
Students must be United States citizens or permanent residents.
Value of Scholarship:
This scholarship is valued at $15,000 annually and can be combined with other scholarships and grants. It is also renewable for four years of undergraduate study. Additionally, Honors students may be eligible for the Provost and Pride of New York Scholarships, awarded by the Office of Admissions
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply,
i. You must first submit your application to the University at Buffalo using either the Common app or SUNY Application.
ii. Two to three days after submission, you will receive an email from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with instructions for logging into the applicant status website for UB.
iii. Once you have received your login information, you can then apply for the Presidential Scholarship.
iv. Students who receive Presidential Scholarships are automatically admitted to the Honors College.
iv. Students who receive Presidential Scholarships are automatically admitted to the Honors College.
