The John Montgomery Belk Scholarship is Davidson's most prestigious and generous undergraduate scholarship, given to the most outstanding students (domestic and international).

A candidate’s record and recommendations must demonstrate academic excellence and purposeful engagement in the classroom, in student and civic organizations, on the athletic field, or in the arts. While academic achievement is paramount, Belk Scholars also exhibit intellectual curiosity and a commitment to both their local and global communities.
Please note that past recipients were in the top 5% of the applicant pool.

The Belk Scholarship will provide you with comprehensive funding (tuition, fees, room and board) plus special study stipends that allow you great flexibility in the on- and off-campus opportunities you choose to explore.

Guidance counselors, heads of school, or principals may nominate one or two candidate(s) from each school. The Davidson admission staff may also nominate students based on the strength of their application for admission. Information about the nomination and selection process, can be found here.
