Scholarship Summary:
A number of Master’s and PhD scholarships are available for both Canadian and international applicants to support research focused on agriculture and food. Up to 40 percent of the award recipients at any time may have pursued prior undergraduate or graduate degrees at the University of Guelph.

Selection will be based on;
i. Outstanding academic achievement {minimum first-class (A-)};
ii. Relevance of proposed research and personal motivation to the vision of the Arrell Food Institute;
iii. Commitment to non-specialist engagement, as demonstrated in the CV
Value of Scholarship:
The Arrell Scholarship is valued as follows;
i. Master's student awards of CAD$50,000/year (available for two years),
i. Master's student awards of CAD$50,000/year (available for two years),
ii. Doctoral awards of CAD$50,000/year (available for four years)
These awards will be paid out in 3 equal payments per year, at the beginning of each semester for the duration of the award.
Scholarship Application Guide:
Apply for this scholarship as stated below;
i. Submit an application for admission to an eligible University of Guelph Graduate program by February 28,

ii. Submit a complete scholarship application package by March 5 and it should include the following documents:
- Statement of research and personal motivation;
- Letter of support from prospective Guelph supervisor; and
- A CV
