Scholarship Summary:
UAH's merit tuition scholarships recognize incoming first-time freshmen (domestic and international) who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in high school. All merit tuition scholarships are four-year awards for fall and spring semesters, renewable each semester based on full-time student status and satisfactory academic progress.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered for these scholarships, you must;
For Alabama (in-state) freshmen
i. have a minimum score of 1060 on the SAT test or a 21 on the ACT test
ii. have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0

For non-Alabama (out-of-state) and international freshmen
i. have a minimum score of 1200 on the SAT test or a 25 on the ACT test
ii. have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0

ii. have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0
Value of Scholarship:
The UAH Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. For Alabama (in-state) freshmen: Award amounts range from $2,050 - Full tuition
ii. For non-Alabama (out-of-state) and international freshmen: Award amounts range from $11,380 - Full tuition
*UAH Presidential recipients receiving full tuition will also receive one year of university housing at a regular room rate
Freshman Academic Scholarships are renewable for up to eight total semesters of award, provided certain criteria are met.
Scholarship Application Guide:
No separate scholarship application is required; all students who submit an application for admission, official transcripts, and standardized test scores are automatically eligible for consideration.
Renewal each semester is contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
• Remain classified as an undergraduate student;
• Enroll full-time each consecutive fall and spring term;
• Earn a minimum 2.00 UAH GPA each semester;
• Maintain a minimum cumulative UAH GPA of 3.00;
• Earn a minimum of 6 credit hours each fall and spring semester and;
• Earn a minimum of 24 combined credit hours from fall and spring of the same academic year
