Scholarship Summary: 
The Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship (VCLS) at Western Sydney University aims to reward the success and accomplishments of high-achieving Australian secondary school students who demonstrate excellence not only in their academic studies, but also in other aspects of their lives.
 
Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: 
i. An Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible New Zealand Citizen**
** Eligible New Zealand Citizen includes students who meet the criteria for HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP.
ii. New student
iii. Enrolling for any undergraduate degree at WSU
iv.  Reside in or have undertaken their Higher School Certificate in Western Sydney
v.  Have received an offer to study, have applied for a course as their first preference through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) or have applied through the Western Portal.
vi. Demonstrate a high level of academic achievement through a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent
vii.  Provide evidence of leadership and community involvement (e.g. School Captain, community service, sport, the arts, public speaking, Maths/Science Olympiads, Duke of Edinburgh award, etc.)
Value of Scholarship: 
The Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship is valued as AUD$10,000 per year for up to 5 years for an undergraduate degree including Honours, or for a five-year combined degree.

Additionally, these scholarship holders are offered access to The Academy which helps to optimise their academic and leadership potential.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply for the VCLS;
i. You only need to submit one application through the Western Sydney University scholarship form.
ii. Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.
iii. Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, ability to meet the criteria, and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
