Scholarship Summary: 
The Bright Futures Scholarship at LBU is an award especially for UK undergraduates, supported by alumni and friends of Leeds Beckett University to ensure that the opportunity to experience and benefit from an education at Leeds Beckett University should be open to all, regardless of their background. There are a limited number of scholarships available to award each academic year. There is one application and selection process each academic year. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible to apply, applicants must: 
• Be the first in their immediate family to attend university. 
• Have a household income of less than £25,000 
• Be a high achiever in their A-Level or equivalent studies, having achieved 128 UCAS points or higher. 
• Be in their first year of study of their first undergraduate degree.

Value of Scholarship: 
The Bright Futures Scholarship is an award of £1,500 paid as £500 in first year, £750 in second year and £250 in third year. Payment of the scholarship will be made via the instalment schedule stated, paid directly to a nominated bank account.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Students who are eligible to apply according to information on their student record will be contacted via their student email address at the beginning of October. If you believe you are eligible to apply but have not been contacted, please contact the Bursary & Scholarship Officer 
ii. Applications will open in December. If your application is successful, you will be invited to an interview. 
iii. Interview dates for this scholarship will be in January/February. Specific dates and times will be confirmed when applicants are successfully shortlisted for interview.
iv. Successful scholars will be notified in February.
