If you're an international student from a member state of the African Union and are self-funding your undergraduate studies, you could be eligible for a scholarship paid as a discount on your first year’s tuition fee.

In order to be eligible for this award, you must meet all of the following conditions;
i. Applicants must be ordinarily resident in a member country of the African Union nation.
ii. Applicants must be overseas fee payers and entirely self-funded.
iii. Applicants must be starting their first year of study on a degree course at the University of Essex in October 2024.
iv. Applicants must actively make Essex their firm choice by 12 July 2024.
Other information to note:
i. Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.
ii. This scholarship is available for the first year of study only.

Value of Scholarship:
The Essex African Undergraduate Scholarships are worth £4,000 each and are paid as a tuition discount in the first year of study only.
