Scholarship Summary:
Named for Fr. Pedro Arrupe, the Arrupe Scholarships are awarded to exceptional domestic freshmen students and are highly competitive and selective. Selection is based on academic accomplishment, including GPA, standardized test results, rigor of college prep curriculum and class standing.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
Eligibility for this scholarship is based primarily on the student’s academic record but there are additional factors that come into consideration namely;
i. Writing ability (LMU requires all students to submit the LMU Supplemental Essay. Additionally, if you are applying through the Common Application, you must also submit a Personal Essay.)
ii. Artistic and athletic accomplishments
iii. Work or service-related endeavors
iv. Co-curricular activities and achievements
v. Recommendations
vi. National test scores (either SAT or ACT is required)
vii. Relationship to the University
There is no minimum GPA or test score required for admission to LMU, but admission is selective. Each candidate’s application is thoroughly reviewed for indications of academic achievement, preparation, and potential.
Please note that no student will be disenfranchised for not submitting standardized test scores as additional factors may also be considered.
Value of Scholarship:
Arrupe Scholarships range in value from $12,500 annually to full tuition, and are renewable for four years.
