Leeds welcome international students from over 140 countries or regions to its multicultural campus. The Leeds International Excellence Scholarship supports students to fulfil their potential and join its diverse community.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To apply for an International Excellence Scholarship, you must:
- be classified as an international student for fee purposes;
- have a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible taught undergraduate programme starting in September 2026;
- be entering into Year 1 of your undergraduate course;
- be self-funded or partially-funded;
- demonstrate an excellent academic track record evidenced through your high school qualifications;
- show excellent personal skills evidenced through extracurricular activities;
Value of Scholarship:
The Leeds International Excellence Scholarship is worth either £3,000, £6,000 or £16,000 (250 scholarships are available).

Make sure you have your:
- UCAS personal ID – this can be found on the UCAS application hub
- UCAS course code and course title – this is also available on the UCAS application hub
- 100-word (600 characters, including spaces) personal statement explaining why you have chosen to study at Leeds, how it fits your future ambitions and goals and why you believe you should be considered for the scholarship.
This could include previous internship or volunteering experience, and awards.
