Scholarship Summary:
The Global Sustainability Leaders Scholar Award is an exciting new undergraduate scholarship scheme, focused on creating a community of global sustainability leaders of the future. Reading will be offering up to 400 scholarships per year, for high-achieving students from the UK and overseas.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered eligible for the scholarship, you will need to:
i. be a UK or international fee-paying student holding an offer for a University of Reading in 2026/27
ii. achieve grades AAA or above in your A levels (or equivalent qualification) or AAB for students eligible for a contextualised offer
iii. successfully complete the scholarship application process for this scheme.
Value of Scholarship:
Each scholar will receive £6,000 a year, for up to four years of full-time study on their course (subject to terms and conditions), for maintenance and living costs.
They will also receive access to opportunities including:
- developing knowledge and leadership skills relevant to addressing climate and nature issues
- engaging in cross-disciplinary learning and activities
- taking positive action for sustainability
- building relevant networks
- being part of a growing community of global sustainability leaders of the future
- dedicated careers support and the potential to enhance employability.

i. Eligible offer holders will be contacted directly by the University with full details of the scheme, and invited to apply for the scholarship.
- In your application for the Scholarship you will be required to answer questions to demonstrate your commitment to global sustainability and addressing climate and nature issues. You may be asked to speak or expand further on your answers as part of the consideration process.
