Scholarship Summary: 
LSU is committed to being a smart investment in its students’ educational journey and its holistic scholarship review process allows for a comprehensive evaluation of each domestic freshman applicant. Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen, transfer students, Louisiana residents, and out-of-state residents; an international entering freshman can only be considered for traditional freshman scholarships if they are a non US citizen that has attended a US High School or American school in another country.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
There are no set criteria but several factors are weighed in the scholarship awarding process, including, but not limited to: academic transcripts, standardized test scores, family background, achievements in and out of the classroom, letters of recommendation from an academic source, involvement, leadership, service, and demonstration of financial need. 

Value of Scholarship: 
The LSU Freshman Merit Awards start in value from $500 per year up and are namely as follows;
