Lafayette is among a small number of top colleges and universities, dedicated to eliminating or lowering the loan burden of students from families with annual incomes under $200,000 and, guarantees to meet the full demonstrated financial need of its students (US citizens and residents only) as long as they meet the filing deadlines.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for Lafayette financial aid, applicants must;
i. Be US citizens or permanent residents
ii. Have an annual family income lower than $200,000
iii. Be admitted for undergraduate study at Lafayette

Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply for financial aid, you must fill out the following required documents;
i. 2026-2027 CSS Profile; Lafayette school code – 2361 (will be available October 1, 2025)
Parental information refers to the parents with whom the student resides.
- CSS Profile for the Noncustodial Parent (if applicable) is also required.
ii. 2026-2027 FAFSA; Lafayette school code – 003284 (will be available in October 2025).
- Only custodial parent information required.
iii. Signed copies of 2024 federal returns and W-2s; This includes copies of parents’ and student’s 2024 federal tax returns, supporting schedules and statements, W-2s and/or 1099s. required for a final award. Parents and/or students who are not required to file must submit a signed Non-Tax Filer’s Statement. Submit all 2024 information through IDOC.
iv. Applicants are expected to keep to track of their submitted documents by going to the Financial Aid Tab on the Application Status Page.
