Scholarship Summary: 
Wright State invites academically-accomplished Ohio students with demonstrated financial need to participate in the Take Flight program. To fund the program, Wright State combines federal and state grant funds along with institutional grants and/or scholarships to meet the cost of in-state tuition. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be considered for the program, students must meet the following:
Enroll as a first-time student at the Dayton campus directly from high school as a first-time, full-time student for Fall 2026
Be an Ohio resident and meet all in-state residency requirements
Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 or higher
Have an Student Aid Index (SAI) of 2,200 or less as indicated by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Value of Scholarship: 
The Wright State University Take Flight program covers the cost of up to 18 credit hours of in-state undergraduate tuition for qualifying students. 

In addition to covering the cost of undergraduate tuition, the program also provides the following benefits:
  • Personal laptop and computer backpack for each participant
  • $100 textbook voucher for each year of participation
  • Dedicated success team, including academic advisor, success coach, and career consultant
Recipients need to file the FAFSA by the priority deadline each year and continue to meet the renewal requirements.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
No separate application is required; 
  1. Students must  for Fall and 
  2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available, beginning October 2025.
