Scholarship Summary:
The Washington Scholars Program was developed to provide the benefits of a Washington College education to domestic students who may not have had the opportunity because of substantial financial need.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration,
i. Washington College seeks high-performing students who are passionate about and dedicated to their academic and extracurricular pursuits.
ii. Beyond academic achievement, successful applicants will have demonstrated a willingness to continue to grow and to help shape the future of the College into a richer experience for all students.
iii. Demonstrate significant financial need
Value of Scholarship:
The benefits of the Washington Scholars Program include;
i. Washington Scholars receive full tuition and fees, as well as room and board
ii. Provides students with a sense of community as they traverse their four-year journey from Washington College student to esteemed alumni. Intentional programming, cultural excursions, mentorship, and workshops are just a few of the many benefits that Washington Scholars enjoy.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply for this scholarship,
i. Prospective Washington Scholars must be nominated by their high school counselors, community-based organization leaders, teachers, or their admissions counselors in order to be considered using this nomination form.
ii. The following completed application materials must be submitted by January 1, 2024.
- Completed and signed admission application form
- Admissions essay/personal statement
- Counselor recommendation
- Official transcript
- SAT/ACT scores or test optional form
iii. Complete the FAFSA by February 1, 2024.
Applications review process is as follows;
• February 9: Program nominees notified
• February 26: Scholarship essay due
• March 1: Finalists notified
• April 5-6: Scholars visit program
