The University of North Alabama's Scholarships of Distinction is designed for outstanding domestic students interested in fields of Accounting, Computing, and Engineering.
These programs provide generous scholarships and excellent learning experiences for motivated students. Students majoring in Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology and Engineering Technology
are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
Eligibility criteria include;
i. All Scholarship of Distinction applicants must be U.S. Residents.
ii. Students must be majoring in one of the following courses; Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Occupational Health Sciences and Data Analytics
- Accounting requirements - First-time Freshman: minimum 3.3 high school GPA and 26 ACT
- Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Information Technology - First-time Freshman: minimum 3.0 high school GPA OR 24 ACT composite
- Engineering Technology - The requirement for Engineering Technology majors is a 3.30 GPA. Students applying for this program scholarship are also required to have a 25+ on ACT Composite, Math, and Science scores.
- Occupational Health Sciences - First-time Freshman: minimum 3.0 high school GPA or 25 or higher ACT composite
- MAcc and MBA in Accounting - Minimum 3.5 undergraduate GPA and Undergraduate degree must have been obtained from UNA
Value of Scholarship:
The UNA Scholarship of Distinction is valued as follows;
For Bachelor degrees
1. Purple - up to $13,000/year
2. Gold - up to $11,000/year
3. Silver - up to $9,000/year
For MAcc and MBA in Accounting Scholarship Levels:
1. Purple - 50% of tuition and fees
2. Gold - 35% of tuition and fees
3. Silver - 20% of tuition and fees

To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission into the University of North Alabama
ii. Send official transcripts and ACT scores to UNA
iii. Apply for the respective scholarship programs ;

- Complete the General Application and any supplemental applications presented. The system syncs with your data. You are automatically matched with ALL scholarship opportunities for which you meet the criteria and the system provides additional “recommended” scholarships that may be available to you. Matching does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship and you will not receive a list of scholarships that you are automatically matched to.
