The University of Warwick will be offering the Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme to support eligible Home fee status students from under-represented groups who wish to start a postgraduate taught masters course in 2026/2027.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
In order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you need to be able to answer yes to all three questions in Part 1 and at least one question in Part 2. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who can answer yes to any of the Part 3 criteria of the below. .
Part 1 - General eligibility
1. Are you applying for a full-time Masters course, or a part-time Masters course that will be studied over a maximum of 2 years, starting in October 2026?
2. Are you eligible to pay tuition fees at the Home fee rate?
3. Can you confirm that you do not already hold a Masters (or Integrated Masters) or PhD qualification?
Part 2 - Financial Eligibility
1. If you started your undergraduate course prior to August 2016:
- Were you were in receipt of a full or partial maintenance grant from the UK Government as an undergraduate?
2. If you started your undergraduate course after August 2016:
- Were you eligible for a means tested maintenance loan from the UK Student Loans Company?
- Are/were you in receipt of a special support grant support from the UK government for your undergraduate course?
- Do you have refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK as a result of an asylum claim or you reside in the UK under a UK Government programme such as the Ukraine scheme or Afghan scheme, and did not take out student finance because you received alternative financial support from your university or charitable foundation (eg Sanctuary Scholarship or Chevening Scholarship)?
Part 3 - Under-represented groups in Postgraduate Taught study
Applications will not be considered for those who do not meet at least one of this eligibility criteria:
- You come from one of the most deprived areas of the country as defined by the government's IMD (Indices of Multiple Deprivation) database. If your postcode IMD value is in decile 1 or 2, you meet this criteria. This is based upon your permanent home address upon entry to University at undergraduate level.
- You entered University at undergraduate level as a Care Leaver. A care leaver is someone aged 16-25 who was in the care of their local authority for at least 13 weeks at any time since the age of 14, including some time after their 16th birthday.
- You were assessed as an 'independent student through estrangement' by Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, Student Finance Northern Ireland or the Student Awards Agency Scotland at any point during your undergraduate degree.
- You either have refugee status, humanitarian protection, or are in the UK under protection from a specific scheme that makes you eligible for Home fee status and access to student loans from the UK government (such as the Ukraine Schemes or Afghan Schemes).
- You are in receipt of DSA (Disabled Students Allowance) as an undergraduate student and/or currently receive DLA (Disability living allowance)or PIP (Personal Independence payment).
- You were a Warwick Scholars undergraduate
- You began your undergraduate studies aged 21+.
- You are a carer for an ill or disabled family member and you are in receipt of Carers Allowance prior to enrolling on your course, or are able to provide proof that you are a carer
Value of Scholarship:
The Warwick Taught Masters scholarships are valued at up to £10,000. The scholarship will be paid as a contribution towards your tuition fees.

iii. Results of the Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme award competition will be communicated through email by 30th June 2026.
