Scholarship Summary:
Murray State University is awarding merit scholarships to eligible first-time domestic freshmen students based on their high school GPA and ACT/SAT score.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be US citizens or residents
ii. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0
Value of Scholarship:
The Murray State Freshmen Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. TRUSTEE - $10,000 per year
Minimum 33+ ACT or 1450+ SAT AND GPA: 3.80-4.00
ii. REGENTS - Annual amount: $8,000
28-32 ACT or 1300-1440 SAT AND GPA: 3.80-4.00
iii. PROVOST - Annual amount: $5,000
No ACT or SAT requirement, GPA: 3.80-4.00
iv. CARR - Annual amount: $4,000
No ACT or SAT requirement, GPA: 3.50-3.79
v. UNIVERSITY - Annual amount: $3,000
No ACT or SAT requirement, GPA: 3.30-3.49
vi. DEANS - Annual amount: $2,500
No ACT or SAT requirement, GPA: 3.00-3.29
vii. OPPORTUNITY - Annual amount: $1,000
No ACT or SAT requirement, GPA: 2.75-2.99
All the above awards are renewable, provided the renewal criteria is met.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
1. Apply for admission to Murray State and receive your acceptance information. When you're accepted, you will receive a 'myGate' username and password. You will need that information to apply for scholarships.
2. Complete the Murray State General Scholarship Application, before the deadline (February 5, 2024).
3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application opens October 1.
4. Check your postal mail and email for your award letter. Award letters are usually sent in mid-March.
5. Accept your awards before May 1, 2024.
