Scholarship Summary: 
The Faculty of Graduate Studies automatically provides awards to graduate students of high academic standing who are registered in full-time studies in any graduate program. The distribution, value and duration of these awards and fellowships are determined by each academic unit. Canadian and International students are eligible for these awards.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration; 
i. The minimum requirement for consideration is 7.0/9.0 or first class standing for a UVic Fellowship or 6.0/9.0 (second class standing) for a Graduate Award, on the last two years of course work. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee that you will receive an award
ii. Full-time registration (3.0 units per term) for UVic Fellowships,  Graduate Entrance Awards, President Research Scholarships, and donor awards
iii. General graduate awards allow for part-time registration in a minimum of 1.5 units each terms
iv. Students must be unconditionally admitted to a master's or doctoral degree at UVic 

Value of Scholarship: 
The University of Victoria Graduate Awards and Fellowships are valued as follows
i. UVic Fellowships of up to CAD$17,500 per year (master's) and CAD$20,000 per year (PhD)
ii. UVic Graduate Awards of up to CAD$10,000 per year (master’s and PhD)

Scholarship Application Guide: 
If you are applying to do graduate studies at UVic, your application for admission will be used by your academic unit to consider you for awards and fellowships. Applicants are encouraged to have their admission application and all supporting documents sent to the Graduate Admissions and Records Office as early as possible, and no later than the application deadline for your academic unit.
