Scholarship Summary: 
The Maryville International Diversity Awards are the most prestigious scholarships available for first-year international students with a demonstrated record of outstanding academic achievement, character and leadership and a clear plan for contributing to the international community on campus.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for consideration, you must;
i. Be a first year (freshman) international applicant (Non-U.S citizen or resident)
ii. Have a demonstrated record of outstanding academic achievement, character and leadership 
iii. Have a clear plan for enriching the international diversity on the Maryville College campus
iv. Have a clear plan for contributing to the international community on the Maryville College campus
v. Have excellent organizational and communication skills
vi. Must live on campus during the four-year period of study
vii. Show that he/she has sufficient funds to cover the remaining cost of attendance to receive an I-20.

Value of Scholarship: 
The International Diversity Awards are as follows;
i. International Diversity Scholarship (1 award available): will cover the full cost of tuition for each academic year and is renewable up to four years provided that the student meets the appropriate requirements (maintains F-1 student status, completes two hours of service per week with the Center for International Education Cultural Ambassadors Program, maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and must live on campus)

ii. International Diversity Fellowship (4 awards available): $30,000/year; Renewable for eight fall/spring semesters of full- time study with a 3.0 GPA and leadership participation. Must live on campus.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply,
i. Submit a complete Maryville College application for admission.
ii. Submit a separate completed application for the Diversity Scholarship/Fellowship, made available to admitted students via their MaryVille Portal – MVP by Jan 15.

As part of the application, you will be required to attach a 300-500-word essay explaining why you believe you are a qualified candidate for the Diversity Scholarship. Make sure you address the following items:
  1. How will studying at Maryville College advance your academic and career goals?
  2. Explain your plan for sharing your culture on the Maryville College campus as part of our Cultural Ambassadors program.
  3. Give examples of previous experiences that have prepared you to implement your plan successfully.
iii. Upload a 1-page professional resume outlining your accomplishments and leadership or work experience.
iv. Upload a letter of recommendation written by an advisor, teacher, or other authority figure who can speak to your leadership and/or academic abilities.
v. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for phone/skype/Zoom interview.
