The University of Toronto Scholars Program provides recognition to about 1000 of the University’s outstanding students at admission. Outstanding domestic and international secondary school students are considered automatically for these awards on the basis of their average at the time of admission (applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution are not eligible for U of T Scholars consideration).

The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program at the University of Toronto is intended to recognize international students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and creativity and who are recognized as leaders within their school. A special emphasis is placed on the impact the student has had on the life of their school and community, and their future potential to contribute positively to the global community. Awarded annually, these scholarships recognize outstanding students from around the world, including international students studying at Canadian high schools. This is U of T’s most prestigious and competitive scholarship for international students.  Each year, approximately 37 students will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.

The Board of Governor’s scholarship is considered one of the University of Guelph's most prestigious entrance scholarships, with only 25 awards being awarded each year to incoming Canadian undergraduates. All full-time graduate students in thesis, course-based, practicum-based, or project-based programs are eligible to apply, with the exception of Theology and Joint Masters Programs, regardless of citizenship.
