Scholarship Summary: 
Iowa State University is awarding one hundred full-tuition scholarships to incoming undergraduate US multicultural freshmen directly out of high school as part of the George Washington Carver (GWC) Scholarship program. The GWC scholarship is not need-based, but students who want to be considered for the award will be required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicant must;
i. Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to qualify.
ii. identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native, African American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi American, Hispanic or Latino/a/x, or Multi-Racial on the application for undergraduate admission. 
iii. Have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and present a minimum ACT composite score of 24 or minimum SAT total score of 1160 (Reading and Writing + Math) to be considered 

{Applicants without test scores can apply for the GWC scholarship based upon meeting the minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA requirement}.

Value of Scholarship: 
The George Washington Carver (GWC) Scholarship is worth full undergraduate tuition for in-state students at a value of $8,324/year or out-of-state students at a value of $24,136/year based on current tuition rates. 

The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years (for a total of four years or eight semesters of undergraduate study), provided the student maintains a cumulative 2.50 Iowa State grade point average, and each academic year completes 24 new credit hours at the university.
