Scholarship Summary: 
SMWC is awarding the Diversity Scholarship to incoming freshmen students (US citizens and residents) who self-identify on the application as belonging to one of the four major racial and ethnic groups such as African American, American Indians and Alaska Natives, Hispanic or Asian and Pacific Islanders and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
ii. Be full-time, degree-seeking campus students
iii. Be African American, American Indians and Alaska Natives, Hispanic or Asian and Pacific Islanders. Students who identify on the application as two or more races will also qualify

Value of Scholarship: 
The SMWC Diversity Scholarship is valued as follows;
i. Tier I Scholarship: up to $18,000 {Students are required to live on campus and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to receive this level}.
ii. Tier II Scholarship: up to $16,000 {Students are required to live on campus and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or be a commuter to receive this level}.

The Diversity scholarship will be applied towards tuition costs only.

To renew, the student must maintain the minimum required GPA, make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree and live on campus to renew the award for up to 8 semesters.
