Scholarship Summary: 
The Stamps Scholarship, established by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation in 2006, provides merit scholarships to the brightest and most outstanding undergraduate freshmen (domestic and international) admitted to the University of Michigan.

Academic achievement is determined on the basis of high school grade point average and SAT/ACT test scores. Exceptional talent in the arts and sciences is also considered in the nomination process, along with other attributes such as demonstrated leadership qualities, outstanding academic credentials, and a stellar commitment to the student’s communities.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 

There are no set criteria but past recipients were usually in the top 2% of the applicant pool.

Value of Scholarship: 
The benefits of the Stamps Scholarship at Michigan include;
i. The Stamps Scholarship covers a student’s annual cost of attendance for up to four years of undergraduate study..
ii. Membership in the U-M Stamps Scholar Society student organization
iii. Potential funding of up to $10,000 to support study abroad, community service, research and internships.
iv. Membership in the National Stamps Scholars organization with opportunities to network with Stamps Scholars at more than 40 colleges and universities.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply for the Stamps Scholarship;

i. Apply for admission using the Application portal

ii. Prospective freshmen with high academic achievement who have been admitted as first-year undergraduates will be nominated for consideration through the admissions process by late January. The Office of Enrollment Management, in consultation with each school and college that admits freshmen, considers applications and selects student recipients.

iii. Nominees will be interviewed virtually by the Selection committee in early February.

iv. In mid-February, finalists will be selected and notified by the Selection committee.

v. High school seniors selected for the Stamps Scholarship must attend the Stamps Scholars Recruitment Weekend held in the spring (mid-March) in Ann Arbor. If a student is unable to attend this weekend, he/she will not be considered for the Stamps Scholarship. Approximately 28 Stamps Scholarships are awarded annually.
